My mind races and my stomach rumbles at the thought of all the sights, sounds and tastes we are to experience in New Orleans!  Today is December 1st- ALREADY!  It is hard to believe that in less than 2 weeks I will embark on my first Amtrak train ride and travel to New Orleans.  As myself and many of the faculty and students at Methodist College find themselves immersed in getting caught up with grading, finishing projects and studying I feel a bit of panic set in.  My house isn't fully decorated for Christmas, I have a milestone birthday to plan, house to clean, gifts to buy, a grade school party to prepare for, attend school and church programs... GROCERIES to buy!   This is NOT what I wanted to feel like on December 1, 2015! Instead of getting overwhelmed by everything I would like to make a choice, right at this very moment, to embrace and enjoy the hustle and bustle.

There are people who struggle with depression or sad feelings this time of year for various reasons.  Many people do not have such adventures planned in their month of December.I have so much to be thankful for, including the busy schedule and lovely people in my life whom I get the privilege to share a gift with.  Another thing I am thankful for is that Mrs. Karn is not going to be grading my blog which is not written at a Master's prepared level, full of run ons, pronoun errors, misplaced modifiers and lack of subject/verb agreements and lack of paragraph/format. I look forward to reading the blogs of the students as we travel to a climate that today's high is 77 degrees F!

This is my first blog, please don't judge! :)  Lisa
